Are you looking for a beginners photography course in Hemel Hempstead? When we’re not in lockdown, lots of people who attend the photography courses live in Hemel Hempstead, so I thought I’d provide some information on what to expect.

Do you own a camera but have no idea how to use it? Do you want to take better photos of your kids but not sure where to start? I run short photography courses in Berkhamsted to help you learn your camera, and take great photos of your family.

When do courses take place?

When we’re not in the middle of a pandemic, courses run at 3 different times, so you can pick the one that suits you best:

Mid-week daytime (babies welcome) – 3 x 2 hour sessions, start time varies
Mid-week evenings – 3 x 2 hour sessions, 7.30pm start
Weekend daytime course – full day course, 10am – 4pm

What is covered in the photography course for beginners?

Beginners photography courses cover the following areas

Fundamentals of composition
How to take control of your camera to get the photos you want
Types of light, both indoor and outdoor, and how to use it to take better photos
Tips & tricks to get great photos of your kids

All courses are a mixture of theory and putting your new skills into practice.

Is the beginners photography course be suitable for me?

Small class sizes mean I work at the level of the people who attend each course. Most people on the beginners photography class arrive not knowing what any of the buttons do. We work at your pace, and answer all the questions you might have. If you’re not sure, get in touch and I’m happy to advise. I also run a photography 201 course which is suitable for people who already understand the fundamentals of photography.

Who else will be on the course?

Courses are for no more than 4 people, small groups mean there are plenty of opportunities for questions. Some people on the beginners course have some understanding of what some of the buttons on their camera do, but most people are complete beginners. Most people on a course tend to live in Hemel Hempstead or Berkhamsted and the surrounding areas. Some people also travel from North London, Harpenden and further afield to attend the course.

How much does the beginners photography course cost?

Courses costs £99. All course materials are included, as well as lots of tea, coffee, biscuits. Lunch is included on full day courses.

Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes, gift vouchers are available, and they make great presents for anyone who wants to learn how to use their camera to get better photos of their family. Gift vouchers are available at any time of year, including for Christmas, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and birthday presents. Vouchers are valid for 12 months.
